1970s' Chainstitch Embroidered International Brotherhood-Boilermakers Navy Windbreaker
Steve's jacket ended up in an abandoned mill in Sanford, Maine where we stumbled across it and the rest of his International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers Local 685 attire.
It was a 25ºF day and we'd just explored the Worumbo Woolen Mills-- where Yvon Chouinard writes that his parents' worked. We pulled over to explore the two massive brick structures and on the fourth floor of the creaking building, there was a pile of old clothes-- amongst the pile was this windbreaker. The building has sadly since burned down.
The jacket is in distressed, vintage condition. It's stiff from years of sitting with rusted snaps and torn welt pockets. It has been laundered.
Best fits size large to extra-large.
